Fraud Week
What Is Fraud?
Fraud involves a willful or deliberate act or omission with the intention of obtaining an unauthorized benefit, service, property, or something of value by deception, misrepresentation, or other unethical or unlawful means.

The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) estimates that organizations lose 5% of their revenues to fraud each year. Fraud can affect the University community in many ways, and we depend upon you to help us fight this issue. Fraud can potentially be administrative (a violation of policy, procedure, regulations, contractual obligations, etc.) or criminal (identity theft, scams, or other violations of law) in nature. View a helpful guide from the ACFE about how to identify and fight fraud. If you are aware of or suspect possible fraud, report it to the Office of Inspector General Services at (850) 644-6031, submit a complaint, or contact EthicsPoint at (855) 231-7511 or via their website. You can also contact the Florida State Police Department at (850) 644-1234, to report a crime.
